WHAT KIND OF AUDITIONS HAVE YOU BEEN HAVING LATELY? Take a few minutes to ask yourself the following ten questions. If you answer YES to any one of them I can help you take full advantage of every single audition to move your acting career forward.
1. When you get your sides, do you sometimes find yourself saying, “this role isn’t very interesting”? 2. As you rehearse your lines, do you often fall into a predictable pattern? Do you stop going over your scenes because you’re afraid your performance will get stale? 3. Do you think being truthful and in-the-moment is enough to land you the job? 4. Is it difficult for you to identify exciting choices that you can’t wait to play? 5. Do you find you act much better at home than at your auditions? 6. Do you ever find it hard to listen and react spontaneously at auditions because you’re nervous or worried about your next line? 7. Do you get distracted in the waiting room and can’t use the time effectively to prepare? 8. Do you often feel there are other actors auditioning for your role that are “better” than you? 9. Are you unsure how to play yourself while playing someone else? 10. Do you often feel you haven’t shown them your very best when you audition?
